about経歴

tsu-tsu (b. 1997, Tokyo) is an artist whose practice centers on "Documentary Acting" — researching and embodying real individuals through performance. Rooted in the concept of tsutsu (vessel) from Japanese classical dance, the work treats the body as a site where the ethics of representation are continuously negotiated. In Servant of the Whole (2022), he performed the pre-scandal morning routine of a government official who took his own life; 01-25-1997 (ongoing) traces strangers worldwide who share his birthdate across borders. He also co-founded 6okken, an artist-run residency near Mt. Fuji. Recognition includes Forbes Japan 30 Under 30 (2023), an Asian Cultural Council Fellowship, and a 2026 IASPIS residency in Stockholm.
