Vectoring Work
Vectoring was tsu-tsu’s first retrospective exhibition, bringing together three works — Being My Neighbor (2021), Servant of the Whole (2022), and 01.25.1997 (2024–ongoing) — reconstituted as a single installation with daily live performances. Together, these works trace the emergence and evolution of Documentary Acting: from a private act of mourning, through the embodiment of a public figure consumed by political narrative, to an ongoing global search for strangers connected only by a shared birthdate.
The exhibition was part of “ANNUAL BRAKE,” a recurring project at The 5th Floor in which an emerging artist is invited to build an exhibition solely from existing works — no new production. In a scene that demands constant output, the project treats the pause as a generative act: a chance to look back, locate a through-line, and present the work with renewed clarity.
Except on the opening weekend, performances took place daily at 15:00, 15:40, and 16:20 — approximately 30 minutes each — alternating between works across the run. Each session was followed by a discussion with visitors, consistent with Documentary Acting’s principle that dialogue with the audience holds equal value to the performance itself.
